21st Amendment

    18th amendment was put into action.
  • Repealed the 18th Amendment

    The 18th amendment was taken out of the constitoution. It took a convincing point for it to be taken out, but they had to do it if they wanted the 21st amendement to work out with the country.
  • Proposed the 21st Amendment

    Senator John Blaine of Wisconsin suggested that the 18th amendment was annuled.
  • 21st was passed

    The 21st amendement was passed on Feb. 20th, therefor taking effect at the end of the year on Dec. 5th. 1933
  • Amendment was sent to state governors

    President Roosevelt wanted the volstead act modified and provide for the sale of 3.2 beer. Many people had mixed thoughts about how this was going to work out again.

    The amendment was ratified at 5:32 pm, and at 7:00 pm, president Roosevelt signed the proclomation. The 21st amendment was now an official amendment.

    Mississippi finally lifted the ban of alcohol. It happened to be the last state to go along with the 21st amendement. I
  • Kansas Bars still banned until now

    Bars in Kansas were still banned unril 1978. No public bar where alcohol could be served ws allowed to be open.
  • Cullen-Harrison

    The sale of 3.2 percent beer and wine was now signed by the president.
  • Cullen-Harrison became effective

    The cullen-Harrison act went into effect.
