God wanted a sacrifice, Isaac, from Abraham. But He stopped Abraham as he was about to kill Isaac and provided a ram.
This story showed that God will always provide for us. He will reward the ones who are obedient and stay faithful (Abraham believed in God and obeyed Him). God also showed that He is a God of mercy and love because He spared Isaac's life. He blessed Abraham because of his faith and that showed that He is very generous. -

In Genesis 28:13-15, Jacob was having a dream where God said to him that God will give him a lot of offsprings and everyone will be blessed through them. God also said He will watch over Jacob wherever he goes. That relates to Jesus in the NT because God looked over Jesus and had blessed all of us through Christ. Galatians 3:14 talks about how Gentiles (us, technically) receive God's blessing and the promise of the Holy Spirit through Jesus Christ.

His brothers were jealous that their father favored him and their jealousy increased when Joseph told them about his dream which they bowed down to him. That eventually lead to the brothers conspiring to kill Joseph, but Reuben wanted to save Joseph so he told the brothers to throw him in a well instead. Some traders going to Egypt came along when Reuben was away and the brothers sold Joseph to them.

Matthew 27:32-44 talks about the crucifixion of Jesus and how He was mocked by the people. The people who made fun of Him and wanted Him killed were His "brothers" (not biological), the Jews, and He had to suffer for them. In the OT, Jacob suffered because his brother Esau hated him and wanted to kill him, as he said "my years have been few and difficult" in Genesis 47:9.

In Genesis 12:2, God promised Abraham that He will make him into a great nation and make his name great. As of 2005, it is estimated that 54% of the world population believes in Abrahamic religion, which means Abraham's name was definitely made great because so many people know it. There are about 6.5 million Jews, descendants of Abraham, in the world and that fulfills the promise that God will make Abraham into a great nation.

Sometimes I took advantage of other people for my own benefits, for example, telling my sister to do the dirty work that I didn't want to do (stealing food from the fridge) because she listened to everything I said, which resulted in her getting in trouble instead of me. Jacob got Esau's birthright by cunning means(Gen 25:34)and later tricked his dad into giving him a better blessing, the one that was meant for Esau(Gen 27). I learned that there will be consequences (like how Esau hated Jacob).
