Saddam Hussein ordered an invasion of Kuwait due to large amount of debt owed to Iraq. Saddam Hussein was Iraqs leader and during this invasion the major goal was to obtain large amounts of oil. With this the power of Iraq and Hussein would grow. With this the United Nations passed an act to ban all trade with Iraq. U.S troops were sent for operation Desert Storm. After 12 years this major conflict led us to the Iraq war which the U.S believed that Hussein had weapons of mass destruction. -
The Soviet Union known as Russia today was a great world power the finally fell. The United States and the Soviet Union never saw eye to eye because of the Cold war. People feared this war from happening because both countries were such great powers. The reason for this countries to fall were due to domestic problems. Several independent nations were formed. He won his first election against former president George H.W Bush and Bob Dole in his second. Clinton wanted to gain more followers of the democratic party by turning some middle and lower class republicans which he did. He created budgets of the country and to get chemical weapons under control in the world. During his presidency he did have an affair with his wife. -

After many years the company Innovated and become a multi-skilled company. Amazons company delivers on every part of the market between package delivery, grocery shopping, music streaming, television streaming, everything. This company is something that has impacted the lives of many americans and will continue to do so. -
The 1997 Chemical Weapon Conference ended that creation of chemical weapons around the world. Countries agreed not to make anymore of these weapons, this did not affect the stockpile that countries had already but only further productions. This act was finally enforced in 1997 for it was a working progress to get be enforced. It took almost 7 years for it to become enforced. Later on this did affect the stock piles of many countries, the OPCW has destroyed more then 96% of chemical weapon stock. -

In his finally game he played the Utah Jazz in game 6 of the final series and hit the buzz beater to win the championship. Jordan was an inspiration to so many people and was one of the main athletes that made Nike the great sports company it is today. -
Columbine was a massacre at a High School in Littleton, Colorado. This massacre done by Eric Harris and Dylan Klebold left 15 dead. At the end of all this both of the kids took their own lives. Officials also found 2 bombs left in the school, if they were not found many more would have died. This was the first of many sadly, after this school shootings become more and more popular across America. 12 students were murdered and a teacher with 21 others wounded. -
George W. Bush became the 43rd president of the United States of America. In Bush's presidency he was faced with the largest act of terrorism the country has ever seen with 9/11. With this George W. Bush helped put an end to Al-Quada and ordered the execution of Osama Bin Laden. Besides this Bush promised big tax cuts, new drug deals for the elderly and focused on public education. In his second term Bush vowed to put an end to tyranny in the world and wanted to spread freedom. -
This was the largest act of terrorism the country has ever seen. A terrorist group called Al-Qeada Hijacked multiple planes and crashed 2 of them into the World Trade center in New York City. Another Plane was hijacked and was heading for Washington but the people on the plane took back control of the plane and crashed it in Pennsylvania. Rough 3000 people were killed during this. George W. Bush was president during this time. This with a combination of other things led us to the Iraq war. -

Lebron James is also an inspiration to many people and has helped out not only in the game of basketball but to black communities around the country. He is a man who used his power and voice to talk about social issues. -
Hurricane Katrina struck the Gulf Coast. This was a category 5 storm destroying parts of Texas all the way to Florida. In this storm New Orleans was one of the hardest to get hit. This Hurricane caused over 100 billion dollars worth of damages and caused around 1,800 deaths. This was one of the deadliest storms in history. New Orleans was affected for many years after Katrina and parts are still affected to this day. This same year the New Orleans Saints won the Superbowl. -

Pilot Chelsey Sullenberger crash landed a plane safely in the Hudson. After a bird strike destroyed both engines of the plane this was the only option for survival. He saved the lives of 150 passangeners on board. People named him a hero others questioned if he could have made it back or not. The plane took for from LaGuardia airport and was headed for Charlotte, North Carolina. Sully was put on trial because many people believed he made the wrong decision but was later proven right. -
Barack Obama was the 44th president of the United States. Obama was the first person African American to be elected as president. Obama was awarded the Noble Peace Prize during his presidency. He served 2 terms as president. He created a health care system called "Obama Care". He wanted to help focus on the environment with creating clean energy and help create jobs through that. Obamas Vice President Joe Biden is our President today.
