    The Soviet Union launched the first satellite instilling fear in many Americans. They were afraid that they were more advanced in technology and became scared of the unknown of what they could do.

    Martin Luther King Jr. gives one of the most famous speeches in American history. His speech gives his hopes for America in the future that segregation and racism will end. This speech brought a lot of awareness around the country.

    Martin Luther King Jr. was assassinated by James Earl Gray. This is a devastating death for many Americans especially in the black community as he did so much for racial movement.
  • 26th Amendment

    This amendment was changed from the voting age to be 18 when it was originally 21. This gave all adults the change to vote and voice their opinion.
  • Watergate

    This was a scandal event when five bulgars were caught stealing from the Democratic National Committee and was linked the the re-election of Richard Nixon. This scandal that he tried to cover up eventually led him to resign.
