    On December 1, 1955 Rosa Parks refused to give up her seat to a white man in Montgomery, Alabama. The
    black community responded by boycotting the bus. They set up their own cab system, rode bikes, or walked.
    The whites thought the protesters would give up quickly, but the boycott remained until November 13, 1956
    when the U.S. Supreme Court determined all laws requiring bus segregation were unconstitutional.
