Russo-Japanese War
Russian-Japanese War 113 years ago on February lasting eight months. The war ended up with 125,000 people dead. Japan gained control of Korea. The fought on the pacific ocean. Russia had already beaten japan many times. Then Japan beat Russia sinking many of there ships. -
World War I
World War I started 1914 ended 1918, between Germany, Hungary, Bulgaria and the Ottoman empire against Great Britain, France, Russia, Italy, Romania, Japan, and the United States. They military technology's weren't as good in World War I as World War II. More than 16 million people dead.Germany was the main target as they invaded many countries like France and Belgium. -
Treaty of Versailles
Treaty of Versailles was the most important peace treaties in the world. That brought World War I to an end. It ended World War I between Germany and the Allied Powers. The treaty was signed 1919 in Paris, France. It was written by the Allies and no Germans. -
Great Depression
The Great Depression was a big worldwide economic depression that took place in 1929, and lasted until 1930. This happened after the stock market crashed of October 1929. Which then sent Wall Street into a panic and wiped out millions of investors. By 1933 the Depression reached it's lowest point which 15 million Americans were unemployed and more than half of the country's bank died out. -
Adolf Hitler
August 19, 1934 Adolf Hitler becomes president of Germany. The old president Hindenburg had to contempt for the Nazi's lawlessness, but agreed to oust his chancellor. In February 1933, Hitler blamed Reichstag fire on the communists. -
Hitlers persecution of Jews
Germany under Hitler begins persecution of Jews from 1933-1939 Hitler killed 6 million Jews. One day kristallnacht happened which is the Night of Broken Glass. Where Hitler sent out his men to go break any house or stores that Jews owned. Even some of the German civilians. They didn't really kill anybody during this night. -
WWII
WWII was a global war that lasted from 1939 to 1945. During the war the U.S president name Franklin D. Roosevelt died during the war and when he was still alive he was working on a project named the Manhattan project which would be the first country ever to use Nuclear Weapons. The U.S vice president didn't know about it. When Roosevelt dies the vice president Harry Truman stepped in and found out about the project when he got to president. The technology in WWII was way higher than WWI. -
Pearl Harbor
The attack on Pearl Harbor was a surprise from the Japanese. They released bombs all over the island. They tried to attack the U.S military ships but there ships left the night before. More than 2,000 Americans soldiers and sailors died. 1,000 men were wounded. The day after President Roosevelt declared war against japan. -
D-Day
During WWII the battle of Normandy was happening which lasted from June 1944 to August 1944 which the allies where the Nazi's. The battle began on June 6, 1944 also known as D-Day which 156,000 soldiers from Great Britain, France, and U.S landed along 50 miles of beaches along the coast of France. In August 1944 the entire top part of France was gone. And all the allies had defeated the Germans. -
Korean War
The Korean War happened when North Korea invaded South Korea. The United Nations came to help South Korea. China came to aid North Korea as well as the Soviet Union. 75,000 soldiers from North Korea. In July 1953 the Korean War came to an end and all 5 million soldiers and civilians lost their lives.
