Emmett Till was A fourteen year old black boy that was violently murdered. It is said that he whistled at a white woman in Mississippi where that was not accepted. This was taken to court, and the all white court ruled in just 67 minutes that the actual murderers were not guilty. -

Rosa Parks refused to give up her seat on a bus to a white man and got arrested. This begins the Montgomery Bus Boycott. -
