  • Germany declares war on Czechoslovakia

    Shortly after Hitler gets power the Germans invade Czechoslovakia.

  • German Planes bomb London

    German planes bomb London. This was big because if he took over the capitol of Great Britain the only one left standing was the U.S.

  • Winston Churchill becomes Prime Minister of Britain

    Winston Churchill becomes Prime Minister of Great Britain. He said the famous quote "Victory is Everything".

  • German U-Boats attacking Merchannt Vessels

    German U-Boats attack Merchant ships traveling from Eastern Europe to America. This was one of the key events that led to U.S's involvment in the war.

  • Pearl Harbor

    Early in the morning on December 7th 1941 the Japanese launched an attack on the United States. The Japanese had 3 waves of attack, but the commander of the Japanese stop the 3rd from coming or it would have wiped outour army.

  • US declares war on Japan

    The US is finally enters the war. (Actually started fighting).

  • US troops arrive in Britain

    The US are now fighting on 2 fronts- Japan and Britain against Germans and Japanese.

  • Doolittle Raid

    This was an air attack by the US on Japan. It was the counterattack for Japan bombing Pearl Harbor. It was called the Doolittle raid because the commander was named James H Doolittle and he was the one who planned the attack.

  • D-Day

    D-Day was the most gruesome , bloody, and bone chilling war. It was fought off the coast of Normandy. US paratroopers landed on the beaches and invaded the German army.

  • Battle of the Bulge

    The Germans attack allied forces in Belguim, known as the Battle of the Bulge. This was the Germans last chance.By January 1st the were retreating.

  • Iwa Jima

    The US fought Japan for Iwa Jima and we won the war. It produced some of the fiercest fighting in WW2.

    The Germans surrender to the western allies.

  • Hiroshima

    The US dropped the an atomic bomb nicknamed "little boy" on Hiroshima. This not only killed military personel but also citizens of Japan.

  • Nagasaki

    The US dropped the bomb nicknamed "Fat Man" on the Japanese town named Nagasaki. This was the bomb that made Japan surrender.

  • Japan Surrenders

    Japan surrendered on September 2nd 1945. This was the official end of World War 2.
