An American spy plane was shot down by the Soviet Union while the American's were spying on the Soviet Union. The Americans were very embarrassed by this and it ruined the current relationship witht he Soviet Union. -
Bay of Pigs Invasion
The Americans invaded Cuba to take over Fidel Castro since he was a Communist and worked for the Soviet Union. Cuba was a large threat to the United States since it was so close to America. -

Letter from Birmingham Jail
MLKJ wrote a letter from jail to his fellow Clergy men, who were criticising his protests and rebellions. King wrote his letter saying that the time for protests was timely. -
March on Washington
Over 200,000 Americans came to Washington D.C. to hear MLKJ rally and deliver his famous "I have a dream" speech.
