The witches speak about what the day will bring: the civil war will end, and they will meet Macbeth.

Macbeth defeats Macdonwald and armies of Norway and Scottland. Duncan has the Thane of Cawdor executed due to betrayal of friendship. Duncan then gives Macbeth the title Thane of Cawdor.

Three riddles are said about Banquo and the Weird Sisters predict his future of Banquo's drive for king.
1) Lesser than Macbeth and greater.
2) Not so happy, yet much happier.
3) Thou shalt get kings, though thou be none. Macbeth starts to consider the killing of King Duncan to obtain his royal status. -
She reads the letter from her husband stating the prophecies. The prophecies say he will become king after he kills King Duncan.

" And live a coward in thine own esteem". This quote is said to Macbeth by Lady Macbeth accusing him of being a coward for not wanting to kill King Duncan. She said she would do so if she had sworn to.

Macbeth uses the servant's dagger to stab King Duncan while he is asleep. Lady Macbeth hears a knock and tells Macbeth to clean up.

Macduff discovers Duncan's murder. Macbeth acts surprised and furious, kills the two servants and Lady Macbeth passes out.

Macbeth is raising concern why Macduff didn't come to the banquet.

Macbeth starts to talk to the hallucination and the guests start to become suspicious. Lady Macbeth then tries to cover it up by saying he has a disorder and ask them to leave.

Macbeth is scared that the witch's prophecies of Banquo's sons of becoming king will come true. Macbeth hires two murderers to kill Banquo and his son.

The witches converse with Hecate about how to plan Macbeth's downfall by making him overconfident. Lennox starts to believe Macbeth is both a killer and tyrant. During this time there are two armies being formed to fight in war.

Macbeth swears to Lennox to kill Macduff's family for him going to England.

Macbeth wants to know more about his future and the witches show him the apparitions:
1. An armed head tells him to fear Macduff
2. The bloody child tells him to not fear anyone
3. A child crowned with a tree in his hand tells him that he will never be defeated until the trees of Birnam Wood move toward his castle. -
Macbeth sent murderers to kill Macduff's wife and son. This enrages Macduff and he swears to confront Macbeth about the killings

Lady Macbeth is sleep walking and the Doctor and the Gentlewoman are concerned. She is speaking of wiping the blood off her hands and Banquo's death. They fear that she will do something to harm herself.

The Scottish rebels join Malcom and his English army in Birnam Wood and are willing to scarifice themselves to cleanse Scotland.

Macbeth aknowledges his regrets in life now that he is waiting for the battle to start. He compares his life to a leaf and states that he has nothing to look forward to in life but the emptiness and curses.

Macbeth has lost faith in medicine to cure his wife. So he asks the Doctor to cure her disease somehow, someway. Macbeth seems to be very caring and considerate toward his wife, but still looking forward to fight again.

The soldiers cut down the tree branches of Birnam Wood and head toward Dunsinane. One of the prophecies is begining to come true.

Angus talks about how Macbeth is doing nothing for his country and that he is not helping anyone. "Now does he feel his title hang loose about him, like a giants robe upon a dwarfish thief" is a quote that Angus says to Menteith.

Lady Macbeth dies from her disease that had no cure. Macbeth wishes there was more time for him to be able to mourn her death.

He believes that the prophecies that the witches told him are starting to turn against him and he decides to go out and fight in the battle.

Malcom and his men arrive at Dunsinane and prepare to defeat Macbeth.

Macbeth begins to believe the prophecy that he can not be killed by any man born of woman after killing Siward.
Many of Macbeth's soldiers have turned against him and have joined Malcom's army. -
Macbeth doesn't want to fight Macduff, having already killed so many of the Macduff family. Macduff kills Macbeth.

Macduff was born through cesarean section (C-section), therefore he was not born of woman he was born of operators.
After killing Macbeth he takes the bloody head to procliam victory. -
Malcom promises that the country will return to the normal state. He prays to God for help in restoring the order in the land.
