    The Lumiere brothers
    Around this time these two brothers were the first ones to create cinematographe. The first cinematographic film they made was a comedic short called 'L' Arroseur arrose' (The waterer watered).

    In 1903 Edwin S. Porter directed the Great train robbery which was about 10 minutes long. I know that dosn't sound like a long time but back then that was pretty long.

    In 1905 came Nickelodeons, now I know when you think Nickoleon you probably think of cartoons like Hey Arnold or Sponebob Squarepants. But the name came from the fact that movies back then used to cost only 5 cent which sounds like a good deal to me.

    In the 1930's the film age grew much bigger in Hollywood due to the fact that film had sound now (they were known as talkies) and they had different kinds of movies like gangster, musicals, western and horror.

    Hollywood had a big role during the war. They made movies about the war which was a big switch from their bright campy style. A good example would be Disney who made many cartoon shrots having to do with the war.

    Casablaca was one of the gretest movies ever made right after World War 2. It was a romantic movie about to lovers with a dillusioned night club owner and his former lover. The film won awards for best picture, best director and best screenplay.

    The 1950's was the birth for a lot of things like rock and roll, fast food and Fonzie. But one thing that came was drive in theatres which let people watch a film without leaving their car. In fact it still goes on today and I have to admit its pretty fun.
