  • The First Day of School

    The First Day of School
I can recall a clear memory of my first day of kindergarten. The specific instance that stands out in my mind took place during our first lesson of the year. It was to arrange the days of the week in the order that they occurred, and I was, to say the least, baffled. I was a connoisseur of crayon art, I could snap and whistle, I could make a friend or two, but this flew right over my head. I was seemingly the only one that felt that way. Ultimately, that moment taught me to come prepared.

Even though the audition was a hoax, this day marked the start of my career as an actor. I begged my parents to let me go to a "casting call" I heard about on the radio, and after endlessly arguing they finally agreed to let me go. Basically, the whole thing was an elaborate ploy to make you pay for a trip to Florida for a "real" audition, but it didn't matter because it made my parents realize how serious I was about acting.Later, I started going to acting classes and I haven't looked back.
