  • The Neutrality Act of 1939

    Major naval battle between the Japanese navy against The United States and Australia. US and Australian victory.

  • The Battle of Midway

    A major naval battle in the Pacific 6 months after Japan's strike on Pearl Harbor. Won by the United States and turned the tide in the war.

  • The Battle of Guadalcanal (1942-1943)

    On February 8, 1943, Japanese troops evacuate Guadalcanal, leaving the island in Allied possession after a prolonged campaign.

  • The North Africa Campaign (1940-1943)

    Series of battles for control over North Africa between Allied and Axis powers.

  • D-Day

    The US invasion of France goes down as one of the most famous military operations in history.

  • The Battle of the Bulge

    Major German offensive campaign on the Western Front. Battle lasted until January and German troops ended up withdrawing.

  • The Battle of Okinawa

    The last major battle of WWII and one of the most deadly although it yielded an allied victory.

  • The Dropping of the Atomic Bomb on Hiroshima and Nagasaki

    The United States dropped a series of atomic bombs on the cities of Hiroshima and Nagasaki. The first atomic bombs to ever be used on people and lead to the Japanese surrender in WWII.
