Georges was an 8 year old schoolboy when the Germans occupied Paris in June 1940.

Germans begin deporting Jews to death camps. Georges' father hid many Jews in his hospital so that they would not be killed. The head of the secret police was friendly with Georges' father, so he relyed on that to keep the Jews safe.

12 year old Georges, his grandmother, mother, father, his older sisters, and his 18 year old brother were put on a train to be deported to the Buchenwald concentration camp.

In November 1944, the children were transferred to the Neuengamme concentration camp near Hamburg, Germany. Soon after, Georges and the others were injected with tuberculosis and became extremely ill.

On April 20th, 1945, when the British were less than 3 miles from camp, all 20 children were brought to a school in Hamburg. The children were injected with morphine and murdered. Georges was one of 1.5 million Jewish children murdered by the Germans during the Holocaust.
