The attack on Pearl Harbor was a major attack by the Japanese on the U.S. Naval Base at Pearl Harbor. The Japanese managed to cripple the U.S. Pacific Naval Fleet and kill 2,300 soldiers while only losing 64 of their own. This led the U.S. to declare war on Japan the following day.

The Battle of Midway was battle between the U.S. and Japan that lasted from June 4 to June 7, 1942. The Japanese planed to get U.S. Carriers into a trap and eliminate U.S. air power. The U.S. was able to decifer Japanese naval codes and prepare for the attack. It eventualy ended in a U.S. victory.
