    The executive order 9066 is the process of removing the American people with the Japanese heritage from the western United States. 2/3 of the 110,000 Japanese were American citizens. They were all taken to internment camps to live.
  • The Bataan March

    The Bataan March
    The Bataan Death Mach began on april 9th and lasted 5 gruesome nights and days. Those who dropped were beaten and killed. They were also left for dead.
  • D-Day

    D-Day
    D-day is the day when the Allied powers wanted to launch a large invasion on the mainland of Europe. The attack happened on the beaches of Normandy. Omar Bradley lead 3.5 million soldiers into the battle. Soldiers were parachutted behind the enemy lines to attack. There were 10,000 Allied casualties.

    When the Auschwitz concentration camp was liberated, many jews were found left to die. The peple that came to save the Jews was a group called the red army. Just moments before the Red Army got there, the German troops heard about it and started to march the surviving Jews out of the camp. The remaining Jews that were left at the camp were saved.

    The famous picture of the American flag being raised on Mount Suribachi is not the first flag that was put up. In the photo there were six soldiers that were putting the flag up and of those six soldiers 3 of them died in action and the other three were flown back home and were celebrities and they really didn't like all of the fame they were given.

    America was getting tired of Japan and wanted to find a way to end the fight between them. America warned Japan that if they didn't surrender that they would drop the bomb and Japan didn't believe them. So on August 6, 1945, American forces dropped the first ever atomic bomb on the city of Hiroshima. After another bomb 3 days later they finally surrendered.
