Japanese invasion of China
Basically one of the first triggers of WWll, when Japans army invaids china near the Marco Polo bridge and the city Beijing, China. This was an unexpected event which allowed Japan to be succesfull and in attempt to gain tradig resources form china. It was Japans goal to complete their Sphere of Influence so that they could have cotroll of the world, this was the begaining of it. -
Rape of Nanking
Where Thousand of Japanese and Chinsese people were buired alived, Dec 13th 1937. Even some Sluaghtered. As many men were killed on this day the Chinese, Korean, Dutch women were forced into a sexual slavery for the Japanese army. For those who were captured wrere brutally and extrimelt turtured, with some prisoners geting cut opened, alive. -
German Blitzkrieg
Known as lighting war in German and Poland as germanys first victim, Invasion of poland. This was Geramnys way to fight intensively and win quickly. Also this tacict beame well used in Wwll, mostly by the germans, because of it effective aftermass. One well know attack was at the town of Belguim, may 10th. Went on from1939-1940/ thoughout the rest of WWll. -
Germany's invasion of Poland
On september 1st to October 6th 1939, Hitler sends his German army into Poland to invade it. Latter on The Soviots march in and invade as well. Before the invasion both signed a nonagression pact so that by Augest 31st they could step foot into Poland. Therefore they invade Sep 1st using the german Blitzreig amy tactic.This triggered the start of WWll. There were a total of 17 invasion that took place in Poland from Sep 1st to OCt 6th, until the Polish surrendered to Geramny. -
Fall of Paris
Also known as the Fall of france. Here this was when the Germans crossed the french boarder, and advoiding the Maginot Line, onto paris for they beleaved that would gain them france, which it did. This battle was also known as one of the most remarkable military compains in history. The first attack was on May 10th, 1040 in the town of Belgium. Their goal was to reach Paris, and on June 14 Paris was bombed and France was now in the hands of Hitler. -
Operation Barbarossa
Starting June 22nd, 1941 Hitler launched three of his massive army goups for the invasion of the Soviet Union. The Army Goup North, the Army Group Center, and the Army Gourp South. Each group were givin the task to reach their cities witin their location. Their goal was to reach Masscow by using the Blitzrieg. The Opperation would last from June to Dec 5th 1941. Though due to the bitter winters and shortage of suplies, the German armies had no choice but to retreat. -
Pearl Harbor
The Attack on Peral Harbor occured due to the fact that it was part of Japan's Sphere of Influence. On the day Janpan attacked Peral Harbor, Dec 7th of 1941, the used aircrafts with bombs attached to the bottom called B-17's. This attack was a surprise for America, which killed tons of Americans and what invovled them into the Japanise war. Then there was a seconed wave, more bombs dropped. Unfortunatally 8 ships were down and 2403 lives lost, yet this becomes the reason America attacks Japan. -
Wannsee Conference
Meeting of the Nazi Officials at Wannsee, Berlin. Where they settled the "jewish Question" thererfore creating a genocide official German policy. -
Bataan Death March
This was the day after japan bombed the U.S. (Pearl Harbor) ON this day, April 9th of 1942. Japan forced the captured Philopines and Americans onto a 65 mile march on the southern end of Bataan to San Fernando, Known as the Bataan Death March. Through this it was estimated that thousand of American soldiers died due to the brutel march. -
Operation Gomorrah
This was the super effeive battle of Operation Gomorrah, Jul 24th, 1943. In the city of Hamburg bombs from the allied froces destroyed and killed tons of people who were mostly German
citizens. -

D-Day (Normandy Invasion)
Stading for Days of Days,This attack on Germany (in Frace) by Briten occured on the coast of Normandy becasue they beleaved that was the spot where Germany would least expect them. Along the coast of Frace there was wall known as the "Alantic Wall" which consisted of many obsticals and land mines to resist invaders. So on the first day bombs were dropped to trigger the linds mines allowing ships to come though without geting damaged. There were five sections, Utah, Omaha, Gold, Sword and Jono. -
Battle of the Bulge
This battle was like the midpoint between teh Allied and Axis fronts. The Battle of the Bulge was locatied in the woods. Hitler tooks his troops on a differnent path to sneek up on the British. Though both met up at Bastogne. This became German's last major offensive, because at this time Germany was runing out of soildeirs and suplises, and so by Feb 1945 all land germany invaded was took back. -
Liberation of concentration camps
Out of the many Camps that occured during the War the Auschwitz camp was one of the most brutal camps, therefore that being major goal to free that camp. THere were an estimated 6 million jews that died due to these camps. These camps were first discovered April 4th, 1945. Then on the 11th, American forces liberated the camps at Buchenwald. After all camps were free, Jan 27th, the British discovered how brutel these concentrantion camps were. -
Operation Thunderclap
Where allied bombing accoured over the German city of Dresden on Feb 13th, 1945, usimg airplanes with bombs being dropped from them. What was left was total distuction and over 60,000 German civilians were killed. -
Battle of Iwo Jima
The Battle of Iwo Jima was located in the Pacific Ocean in which the Japanese attacked on February 19, 1945, and then lasted till the 26th of March. Iwo Jima was a very small island and was one of the small islands Japan wanted to capture to gain more power to capture other land. There about 6500 americns died with 20,000 injured, and only 300 japanese sodiers were takin alive. -
Battle of Okinawa
Okinawa was another small island the japanese wanted. Here a marjor and deady battle happened. These events went front March to june, an 82 days long battle. The results killed many American as well as japanese civilians and women, who though themselves into the ocaen to escape. Also a total of 36 American and British ships sunk and 13'000 Americans dead. -
VE Day
The Vitory of the British for Eruope and the end of WWll. This was due to the win at Berlin and the Death of Hitler who killed himself, which was on April 30th. Thousands fo people were supper greatful/ thankful once Churhill anoced that the war was finally over and that virtory was theirs, and so on May 8th, 1945 it was offically pasted that the war was over. Though things were still not resolved for the Americans and the Japenese. -
Dropping of the atomic bombs
Due to all the Japanese Invasions it was time the Allies begain to see that this need to end and there was a fear that Japan may never surrender. Therefore in August 1945 the Americans dropped a atomic bomb onto the city of Hiroshima in Japan with their B-29 airpalne. Though still Japan did not surrender, so a second bomb was dropped again onto the town Nagasaki. This killed more Japanese then the planes, therefore what finally casued Japan to surrender. -
VJ Day
This is when Japan finally surrenders after the second bomb the U.S. fired on their land handing the victory to the Americas, Aug 8th. As well as the final end to WWll on August 15th, 1945.
