  • The Holocaust

    Many people had been put to work, or were kept in concentration camps to be put to death. This was were Jews were place. The conditions were terrible and food was not always given daily. In addition, sleeping conditions were cramped, hot, and "beds" were stift placements of wood; sometimes you were left to sleep on the dirty floors.

    It started with a top-secret American program, the Manhattan Project. This powerful weapon used energy released by the splitting of atoms.
  • Nazi Olympics

    This was an international multi-sport event in Berlin, Nazi Germany.
  • Poland Invasion

    Germany had started by saying they were attached by Poland, as they used a dead criminal for their evidence. That lead to German troops invading Poland. This is when the blitzkrieg was also introduced. A mixture of air attack and fast armored strikes were used.

    Winston Churchill had become the new Prime Minister of Britain. He had believed Hitler at first but was wrong.

    When British troops get away from Germany invading France.

    Hitler broke the non-aggression pact w/Soviet Union in summer of 1941

    This was a surprise military attack from Japan. It all took place in Hawaii, and lead the United States to join World War II.

    The United States find out about concentration camps and later in the war, free camps in Paris, Aushwitz, etc.

    The invasion performed by the Allied powers on Sicily was also known as Operation Husky. It had began with many airborne attacks and took six weeks to conclude the entire mission.
  • Invasion of France

    Allied powers and the Low Countries defeated France, known as "The Fall of France."

    This was an attack from the Allied forces on the northern France area. It began with parachuting behing German lines to secure the key sites.

    Paris was freed and liberated from the Nazis.
  • Battle of the Bulge

    Battle of the Bulge
    The Germans had lauched a surprise offensive on their behalf. This was Hitler's plan to win back very needed ground. A lot of it took place in below-zero temperature and with few supplies.
  • Hiroshima and Hagasaki

    Hiroshima and Hagasaki
    American forces dropped an atomic bomb on Japaneses cities. This would cause over 100,000 deaths and the surrender of Japan.
  • Germans Surrender

    After the fall of Berlin, many started to surrendering which later led to all of Germany out.
  • Hitler's Death

    Hitler had committed suicide in Berlin.
  • Japan Gives Up

    The Japanese air force and navy were both destroyed. Although the surrender was announced in early August. The official documentations were not signed until the following month, giving the Allied Powers victory.
