During the Battle of Midway they lost four. Four out of Six. Most of the veteran highly skilled ship crew perished, including their captains. How is that not a disaster? (Most of the air crew survived but an aircraft carrier is a ship. It won’t run without good well trained ship crew.)

The Russians were fighting to protect their homeground. They were used to it, although not always as stylishly dressed. The Nazis were invading because they intended to kill every Russian alive because of Hitler’s theory of racial superiority.
