  • Ribbentrop/Molotov Pact

    The Molotov–Ribbentrop Pact, (also known as the Nazi–Soviet Pact), named after the Soviet Foreign Minister Vyacheslav Molotov and the German Foreign Minister Joachim von Ribbentrop, officially the Treaty of Non-aggression between Germany and the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics,[a] was a non-aggression pact signed between Nazi Germany and the Soviet Union in Moscow on 23 August 1939.
  • Japense invasion of of China

    Japan invaded a small country in China called Manchuria on September 18, 1931. The Japanese created a puppet government in 1932. The puppet government was soon pushed into North of China. One of the generals, Chiang Kai-shek was held captive by local military force. A clash started outside of Beijing on July 7, 1937. This clash started full warfare. Shanghai was attacked and fell very badly.
  • Rape of Nanking

    The Nanking Massacre or Nanjing Massacre, also known as the Rape of Nanking or Rape of Nanjing, was an episode during the Second Sino-Japanese War of mass murder and mass rape by Japanese troops against the residents of Nanjing (then spelled Nanking), then capital of the Republic of China. The massacre occurred over six weeks starting December 13, 1937, the day that the Japanese captured Nanjing.

  • Fall of Paris

    On June 14, 1940, British prime minister Winston Churchill had tried for days to convince the French to wait before proposing peace with Germany because he thought America would come to help them.   • Pearl Harbor

    Pearl Harbor A little bit before 8 a.m. Japanese came over Pearl Harbor with their airplane and started to attack the American soldiers. This attack lasted for about 2 hours which was very destructive and horrible. The Japanese managed to destroy nearly 20 American naval vessels, including eight enormous battleships, and more than 300 airplanes(A&E Television Networks). It killed over 2,000 American soldier and sailors, which left 1,000 wounded.
  • Wannsee Conference

    The Wannsee Conference was held January 20, 1942. The 15th highest powered Nazi Party and German government officials gathered at a Villa in a Berlin surburb. This meeting was held because, they were discussing the “Final Solution of the Jewish Question.”

  • Allied invasion of Italy

    The Allied had launched an invasion at Italy on September 3 1943. It all started when the British had went across Strait of Messina to Calabria. There was a small secret agreement betweeen the iltialin goverment that was led by Peitro Badoglio, and was signed on September 3, which neutralize the agreements between the Iltialian forces and had left ("Germany division had offered resistance. The germans had captured the ilitialin military and fired there ships at the ilitians.

    On December 1944 Adolf Hitler wanted to split the allied armies in North west of Europe. As the Germans had drove deeper to into the Ardennes in attempt to secure the vital bridge heads the allies took on an appearance of a large bulge, giving power to battle’s name. On December 19 three of German armies there was more than a qauter million of troops had launched the most deadlist war in the west in Forested Ardennes.
  • Liberation of concentration camps

    Soviet soldiers were the first to liberate concentration camp prisoners in the final stages of the war. On July 23, 1944, they entered the Majdanek camp in Poland, and later overran several other killing centers. On January 27, 1945, they entered Auschwitz and there found hundreds of sick and exhausted prisoners.
  • Operation Thunderclap

    ‘Operation Thunderclap’ had been under discussion within the Allied Command for some time. The proposal was to bomb the eastern cities of Germany to disrupt the transport infrastructure behind what was becoming the Eastern front. The plan was reconsidered in early 1945, to be implemented in coordination with a Soviet advance, but was again rejected as impractical.
  • Battle of Iwo Jima

    Invasion of Iwo Jima during World War II stemmed from the need for a base near the Japanese coast(A&E Networks). Three of the U.S marines landed on the island in February 1945. Iwo Jima was defended by roughly 23,000 Japanese army and navy troops, who fought from an elaborate network of caves, dugouts, tunnels and underground installations(A&R Networks).After a month of fighting the marines defeated and earned a place in American,it also showed the U.S flag being raised in victory.

    The battle of Okinawa was the final battle in the Pacific island.the Okinawa campaign (April 1—June 22, 1945) involved the 287,000 troops of the U.S. Tenth Army against 130,000 soldiers of the Japanese Thirty-second Army(A&E Networks).On June 22 1945 Japan had llst more than 77,000. The allies suffred 65,000 causilties
  • VE Day

    On 1945 this is the victory of Europe that was celebrated by the United States and Great Britain. On may in Prague, the Germans had surrendered to the soviet antagonists, right after the latter had lost more than 8,000 soldiers.
  • Dropping of the Atomic Bombs

    August 6, 1945, World War II the American B-29 bomber dropped the first atomic bomb over the Japenese city of the Hiroshima. The Atomic Bomb ended WWII. Many people believed that this bomb also led to the Cold War.
