    Winston Churchill was born at his grandfathers home in Malbrorough,England. His parents were Lord Randolph Churchhill and his mother Jennie Jerome. Churchill was one of two children in the Chuchill home, Six years after he was born, his brother Jack was born.(Costigan)

    Schooling
    Churchill was never a great student in school and sort of a trouble maker. In 1887 Churchill was accepted into the prestigous Harrow Schoo. In Harrow is where Churchill began studying military tactics.(Costigan)

    After Churchill graduated from Harrow, he was acctepted into Sandhurst which was a royal military collage in 1893. In decemer of 1884 he graduated at the top of his class. Churchill was given a commission as a cavalry officer.(Keegar)

    After Churchill had seven months of basic training, he was given his first leave. Churchill traveled to Cuba to watch Spanish military shut down a rebellion. Churchill made plans to be a war correspondent for Londons Daily graph. This was the beggining of his writing career. When Churchills leave was up he went to India to also watch their military in action. From all Churchills experiences he wrote his first book, The Story of the Malakand Field Force in 1898.(Costigan)

    In 1905 Churchill was asked to become the Under-Secretary of State because the Liberal party won the national election. Then in 1908 he was promoted to the President of the Board of trade, also in 1910 he was made Home Secretary.(Costigan)

    In October of 1911, Churchill was ,made First Lord of the Admiralty. The First lord of Admiralty was in charge of the British navy. Churchill spent three years working very hard to strengthen the British navy becasue he was worried German militaries strength.(Keegar)

    When Nazi Germany attacked France on May 10, 1940, it was time for Chamberlain to step down as Prime Minister. Appeasement hadn't worked; it was time for action. The same day that Chamberlain resigned, King George VI asked Churchill to become Prime Minister. (Keegar)

    In June of 1962 Churchill fell out of a hotel bed and broke his hip. Then on January 24, 1965 at 90 years old he fell into a coma. On January 24th 1965 Churchill had died. He had been a member of the Parliament until the year before he died.(costigan)
