In February 1585 he had twins named Judith and Hamnet, but the latter died at the age of eleven. -

Romeo and Juliet or The Most Excellent and Lamentable Tragedie of Romeo and Juliet was first performed in London on 29 January 1595 and published two days later. He began writing it in 1591, finishing it in 1595. -

Always fascinated by travelling actors, and he left his brother in charge of his family. In 1957 (a year after Hamnet's death), he bought one of the largest houses in Stratford. -
