At the age of 12 in 1923 William Golding attempted to write a novel. William was a frustrated child, that enjoyed bullying people which lead him to write.

Later on in his life William decide to follow after his father and teach philosophy. Which after a while he decide to stop and join the Navy and fight in World War II.

After 21 attempts of publishing a novel and being rejected, William was finally able to publish his first novel, Lord of the Flies.

During his last few years of life William lived in Falmouth with his wife Ann Brookfield. Which later on he died of a heart attack.

After his death William Goldings novels continued being published such as The Double Tongue. Golding had so many successful novels such as the Rites of Passage.
