Heisenberg disagreed with the principle wave theory, stating that one could not observe electrons or their orbits so there was no way to confirm that they existed. Heisenberg during WWII
There are multiple sources that say various things about what Heisenberg did during the time of of WWII. Some sources say that Heisenberg worked on the Nazi Atomic bomb project. Others say that he sabotaged it. Others say he did not do anything during WWII.

At the end of the war, Werner among other physicists were taken prisoner and brought to England during Operation Alsos .But in 1946 Heisenberg returned to Germany. Upon returning he organized his colleagues and established the Max Planck Institute of Physics. -
