Ida was born in a village of Hatch Hollow in Erie County. She was born in a log cabin. Ida graduated head of her class in Titusville.

Born in Great Barrington, Massachusetts. When he was a child he went to Sunday school with African American and white childern. When he hit highschool people began to dislike him and look at him differently because of his skin color.

Du Bois became the first African American to earn his doctorate from Harvard. A couple years later he became the first African American to earn his professors lisence. He majored in history and economics at Atlanta University.

Published his book called "The Souls of Black Folk". In this novel he expressses the hard times he encountered while living a life as an African and an American.

Du Bois organized a Pan-African congress that attaracted black leaders to the organization. They believed it was done to create unity in the people of african decent.
