Birth Day
Harlow was born in Annapolis, Maryland. His mother, a teen at the time, could not take care of him and put him up for adoption. -
Adoption
At age two Harlow was adopted by a Vietnamese family. -
Ages 2-4
From ages two through four Harlow lived as a normal child would, playing outside, sleeping, and eating. -
Ages 5-8
Harlow spent as much time as possible with his older sister and brother, playing, exploring, school work, and just lazing around. -
Age 9
Harlow's older brother goes to college so it's just Harlow, his sister, and his parents. -
Ages 10-12
Harlow spends as much time as possible with his sister before she too leaves for college. -
Age 13
Harlow's sister was off to college as well so Harlow was left alone with his parents. Later that year Harlow's brother got married -
Moving
After both Harlow's siblings moved out Harlow and his parents moved to Qui Nohn, Vietnam. -
Boating
After moving Harlow's mom starts teaching Harlow to sail and he develops a passion for it. -
The Accident
Harlow's mom takes him on a special boating trip but, in a tragic turn of events only Harlow comes home. -
Anger
To deal with his grief Harlow's dad takes his anger out on Harlow by, yelling and hitting things. -
Blame
Harlow blames himself for his mother's death and gets into the habit of pushing people away, which causes his relationships with friends and family be ruined. -
Travel
Harlow decides that after almost a year of his father's abuse he needs to leave. He decides he is going to travel around the world in a boat-in honor of his mother. -
Meeting Finley
On his travels while in Bangladesh, Harlow meets a girl that he is immediately drawn to, her name is Finley. They become friends and she joins him on his travels. -
Storm
When leaving Australia, Harlow and Finley are caught in a horrible storm bringing back bad memories for Harlow. -
Shipwrecked
After the storm Harlow and Finley end up shipwrecked on La Roche Godon. -
La Roche Godon
After the shipwreck Harlow and Finley have nothing and must figure out how to contact someone to rescue them. -
The Village
Finley and Harlow roam the island until they finally find a small, remote village. -
Truth About Harlow's Mother
While at the village Harlow discovers that his mother is alive and he wants to go find her. -

Harlow is determined to find his mother and bring her home safely.
