Willard Van Orman Quine was born on June 25, 1908 in the city of Akron, Ohio. He stayed in Ohio for his first college stint.

Quine attended the Oberlin College where he graduated with a Bachelors of Arts with his major being Mathematics, and honors in mathematical philosophy.

Quine attended Harvard where he received his Ph. D. in Philosophy.
