Abolishing slavery was important because it made us African-Americans feel as if we were free and it gave us certain advantages but not the same advantages as the white people. -

This event is important because it discriminates against women's right to vote by allowing only minority males. -

This event is important because it is a huge reason why us African Americans fought, protest, and died trying to push voting rights and one reason why white people didn't consider us as equal to them. -
Supreme Court decides that literacy are constitutional
Literacy test were used to disenfranchise African-Americans and the administrators who gave the test would choose who failed and who passed which was very unfair.
