Also known as Operation Barbarossa. it consisted of nazi Germany wanting to conquer the S.U. The end goal was to repopulate that territory. -

It was a war between the Soviet Union and its allies against the axis powers. The russian leader at the time was Joseph Stalin. -

The federation of Russia got a permanent sit at the United Nations Security Council during the precidency of Boris Yeltsin. And it still remains now days. -

Russia decided to join the Partnership for Peace program. This meant that Russia would have to work with NATO to make decision. -
Support of Vladimir Putin
President at the time Yeltsin supported Vladimir´s Putin career. In fact he made Putin the prime minister. Later on he also named him the acting president. -
Vladimir Putin as Russia´s president
He was elected as President on may 2000, and later reelected. From 2000-2004, 2004-2008. During these years he helped in health, education and agriculture areas. -

New president Dmitry places Putin once again as appointed prime minister. And later he nominated Putin as President for the third time. -

Many people weren’t happy about the news, people began to protest which lead to punishments. This time Putin´s presidency was going to be 6 years long. -
Syria and Russia
Russian government started to airstrike Syria. They said it was to end with terrorists ¡, but many people don’t know how effective that would be. -
People still vote for him.
Once again Putin is reelected, and won by a majority of 77 votes. After all this long time, people still voted for him. -
