    Charles Dickens
    One of the greatest novelists of the Victorian era due to his satirical and poetic style of writing. Nicknamed the Inimitable because he was such a good writer. Known for ' A Christmas Carol'(1843) and 'Oliver Twist'(1838). Had seven siblings and ten children. Born February 7, 1812 and died June 9, 1870.

    The Great Famine was one of the greatest disasters to occur to Great Britain and Ireland. Caused by crop failure of Ireland's potatoes. Late blight(cause of crop failure) is a disease in potatoes and tomatoes and can infect the leaves, stems, fruits, and tubers of potato and tomato plants.

    Repealed by Robert Peel after being convinced by the leader of the Anti-Corn law League, Richard Cobden, that it would have the same results as the Great Famine which ended in starvation and death of over 1 million people. Richard wanted the Corn Laws over because of the factory-owners trying to cut wages while the price of bread was increasing.

    Casted 1856. It is the Largest bell in the in clock tower. After The Palace of Westminster was destroyed by a fire in 1834. It was decided there would be a new building for the House of Parliament and the it would have a tower and clock. A bell was need for when the clock striked and The Great Bell was casted. The first attempt in ringing the bell it cracked and was casted again in 1858 but smaller. The Great Bell was originally supposed to be named after Queen Victoria but was nicknamed Big Ben

    The Palace of Westminster was rebuilt in 1870 after a disastrous fire destroyed it. It is also known as the House of Parliament. When rebuilt it was rebuilt with a clock tower known as Big Ben. The palace is used for meeting of the two Houses of Parliament, House of Commons and the House of Lords.

    Novel written by Robert Louis Stevenson about a Doctor (Dr. Jekyll) and his evil alter ego Mr. Hyde. DR. Jekyll has created a drug to separate the good and evil in him. The drug works and he is now able to become Mr.Hyde, but as time progresses he is no longer able to control when his personality switches and Mr. Hyde being evil is now wanted for murder.
