George graduates engineering school.

George took his dog on a nature walk and when he returned he noticed that burs were sticking to his shirt and on his dog. He put one of the burs under a microscope and noticed that the hooks on the burs were sticking to the loops on his clothes. "Wink wink"

After months of thought, George made the design of a fastening system that uses hooks and loops. He called it Velcro, coming from the words VELour and CROchet.

George finalized the design and patented velcro!

Velcro comes to America in Manchester, New Hampshire at a textile factory.
