    the most important event of reconstruction was the creation of the civil rights bill and the 14 amendment. this was so important because it gave blacks citizenship rights and also protected these rights. andrew johnson vetoed the law but congress over ruled him with a 2/3 majority vote.

    in my oppinion radical reconstruction was the most impactful because it forced states to ratifiy the 14th amendment witch had a large impact that lasts to this day even if reconstruction faild. it also made states invalve blacks in the reconstruction witch gave blacks a sence of hope.

    the tweed ring scandal was the most important event regarding political machines because tweed (leader of tammany hall, a powerful new york political machine) was aressted at the end of the scandal on nov 23 1876 and the rest of the ring where convicted as well. tammany hall was a large political machine witch was a signifigant loss.

    imediatly after taking office hayes withdrew all troops from the west. he did this because in the compromise of 1877 (clever name) the promissed that if hayes was elected he would withdraw from the south and pass a bill that would help make a trans contenental railroad and they would elect hayes.
