  • 1887

    Germany signed a secret agreement with Russia called the Reinsurance Treaty (June 18, 1887)
  • 1937

    Japan was jealous of China because they had many natural resources in Manchuria, so Japan decides to strike and invade China. Japan travels to Nanjing. As the Japanese travels, they kill chinese people in gruesome ways. many women were raped (around 11,000 people were killed, around 1,000 women raped)
  • 1940

    By 1940, Germany (Nazis) attacked Denmark, Norway, Sweden remained neutral, they went into the Netherlands, Belgium and then France.
  • 1941

    Dec 7, 1941 - US naval fleet in Pacific was crippled by surprise attack; 8 battleships sunk and 2400 Americans were killed
    Japanese attacked military as well as civilians (hospitals)
    Japan attacked the Philippines and other naval bases
    The Japanese declared war on America and Britain, and America did so as well, causing Italy and Germany to get involved as well on Dec 7, 1941 Throughout the US, people lined up to fight in the war and
    the US was now fully involved in WW2.
  • 1942

    The Bataan Death March: after the surrender of the philippines, the japanese force the americans who are still in the philippines to march in the jungle to build their own concentration camps. If they fell, they killed them burtally. (april 9, 1942). They tortured them and did not feed them
  • 1945

    During the final stage of World War II, the United States detonated two nuclear weapons over the Japanese cities of Hiroshima and Nagasaki on August 6 and 9, 1945. This killed around around 146,000 people
