    Columbus journey's to the new world
    Columbus tried to journey to Asia but ended up in the Caribbean. Without him finding new land no one would have colonized there.
  • Jamestown founded

    Jamestown founded
    Jamestown was colonized by the British in the New World to gain wealth for the motherland. Without the people of Jamestown settling in the new world the British wouldn't have gained more goods and wealth and other countries might have not settled there.
  • Pilgrims landed in Plymouth

    Pilgrims landed in Plymouth
    The Mayflower landed in Plymouth when they were hoping to reach Virginia but didn't make it there due to harsh oceans.
  • French and Indian War

    French and Indian War
    This war was started because the Britsh wanted some of the French's land and instead of reasoning with them they took it without asking which provoked the French forcing them to drive out of the land. George Washington went back to reason with them and the french declined. He built a small fort watching there land and one night the French attacked which started the war.

    In the Albany Plan of Union George Washington and other large leaders created a plan for every colonist to "Join or Die" in other words fight in the war against the French and Indians or die.

    The Treaty of Paris was signed after the Seven Years' War ended. This marked that Britan now owed all of France's previous land.

    banned the settlement of Anglo-American colonists on land taken from the French after the French and Indian War.

    A law passed by the British to place a tax on stamps and with every sheet of paper people buy they also have to buy a stamp.

    The Quartering Act was passed when Britain sent soldiers to look after the colonies to ensure they did as the government said. This was passed so the soldiers had somewhere to live so they made colonists live with soldiers.

    This was when the British government placed taxes on certain items like tea, candles, led, paint, paper, and others. The colonists didn't like it so instead of buying products they traded with neighboring colonies for resources.
  • Boston Massacre

    The Boston Massacre was a fight that broke out between the British and those against the British. Three people were killed and eight wounded two of which led to death by British soldiers. The crowd threw snowballs, sticks, and stones at them but never killed one of the soldiers. This event led up to the American Revolution.

    This allowed the East India Company to sell taxed tea in America, starting the American Revolution's uprising.

    The Declaration of Independence was a document adopted by the Continental Congress on July 4, 1776. It declared that the 13 American colonies were no longer subject to British rule and were now free and independent states.

    People did not like the amount of tax they were getting so they asked the government to stop taxing them and since the government said no, people started to protest which started the uprising of the rebellion. This was a turning point for American governments realizing that they don't lead the government the people that allow them to "lead it" do.

    Congress ratifies the U.S. Constitution
    The Federalists and anti-federalists agree and instate the U.S. Constitution. This Constitution states that the people will get a say in the government and we are finally a free country from Britain.

    The Whiskey Rebellion happened because the government placed a tax on whiskey that farmers made. This caused the farmers to riot and get violent to the point where they burnt down a tax collector's house to show their anger.

    The XYZ affair was when the U.S. and the French formed a treaty to not ally with Britain without the input of the other, the U.S. did talk to Britain without france with caused France to be mad and send over agents called "X, Y, and Z" the agents said that they would need to pay money to talk about still having an allegiance with France.

    This was after the U.S. had the XYZ affair and was trying to make peace with Napoleon from France. To do this we declared war against Britain and we tied. This lifted our spirits because even though we were unstable we were able to show Britian that we can't be controlled anymore.
