    Alek Zanchetta moves to Central Michigan University to pursue is college career with the intentions of a four year plan and a degree in nueroscience.

    Zanchetta received an M.I.P. at the age of 18. It was his first encounter with the law and took two years to get completely off his record.
    "I was guilty by association," said Zanchetta. "I was at my fraternity drinking when it got shut down and I was caught drinking underage."
  • 21st Birthday

    Zanchetta celebrated his birthday with family and friends back at home in Clinton Township, MI before he headed back to school for his role as a leadership safari guide in August.
  • Caught with Drugs

    Zanchetta drove to school for Leadership Safari with a cracked fifth in his back seat from his uncle for his birthday. Zanchetta was not drinking but got pulled over for speeding. "The cop asked if anything was in the car," said Zanchetta "I told him I had alcohol in the car and some weed as he started searching it." Zanchetta was then arrested and sent to jail where he then bailed himself out and called his lawyer.
  • First Court Date

    Zanchetta had his first court date 6 months later where he was assinged 30 hours of community service and required to go to a drug screening class. He volunteered at the soup kitchen on weekends and after school days. He soon started to fall behind in school because of this and due to his new job that he started in order to pay off his lawyer.
  • Probation Complete

    Zanchetta completed all his required work 6 months later but was terribly behind in school, failing almost all his classes his senior year. His graduation date was moved back a year and he had to change majors due to failing his chemistry class more than allowed and was now a psychology major.
  • Speeding Ticket

    Zanchetta was pulled over for speeding on his way back to CMU for the upcoming school year. He had points added to his license and it was made restricted to certain hours of driving because he still had charges from the summer before when he was caught with drugs in his car.

    Zanchetta was caught driving on his restricted license when he rolled though a stop sign on his way to pick up his girlfreind from a party. She called frantically needing a ride home because of unappropriate actions taking place and was uncomfortable. When he was pulled over he told the police about her situation and that he was worried for her safety, but he was arrested and had his car towed anyway.
  • Lost License

    He paid his ticket for rolling through the stop sign but had his license taken away for 6 months due to driving when he wasn't supposed to. He also had to work more shifts in order to keep paying his lawyer which put him behind in school, once again failing classes he needed.
  • Notice for Final Fee

    Zanchetta received mail that he had to pay his final balance from all his acquired tickets before his 23rd birthday in July in order to get his license back. At this point he was also required to enroll in his sixth year at CMU to complete his degree.
  • Online schooling

    Zanchetta enrolled fro the 2015 fall semester at CMU taking three courses online so he could stay home and work more. Everything has been removed from his record at this point but he still aims for a degree.
