    The cause of this battle was because Japanese amphibious operation intended to capture Port Moresby, located on New Guinea's southeastern coast.
    Japanese aircraft carrier Shoho was torpedoed by US.

    This Battle took six months between August 1942 and February 1943 over a fight for the island of Guadalcanal.
    It was a Air and Sea Battle better Japan and US.
    Many aircraft and ships were lost but those of the United States were soon replaced, while those of Japan were not.
  • Saipan

    It fought on the island of Saipan in the Mariana Islands from 15 June - 9 July 1944.
    165,000 shells were fired in the bombardment of Saipan.
    By 7 July, the Japanese had nowhere to retreat.
  • Iwo Jima

    US bombed the area where the Japanese were to lighting up on the attack of the troops coming to shore.
    At 8:30am, the order, "Land the Landing Force," sent the first wave of Marines to attack the shores.
    Extreme fire on the men trying to get on shore made it very unorganzied and not as planned for there attack.
