#6 Wall Street Bombing
A man stopped a cart in front of the U.S. Assay Office, across from the J. P. Morgan building in the heart of Wall Streetin New York City. The driver got down and quickly disappeared into the crowd.within minutes, the cart exploded into a hail of metal fragments immediately killing more than 30 people and injuring some 300. They actually never found out of the man who did it, but he probably was trying to hurt as many people has he could to hurt the government. This was the shocking first. -
#10 TWA Flight 847 hijacked
The plane was hijacked by Shiite Hezbollah terrorists who immediately demand to know the identity of ''those with Jewish-sounding names." Two of the Lebanese terrorists, armed with grenades and a 9-mm. pistol, then forced the plane to land in Beirut, Lebanon. They then focused on US Navy divers and killled Navy diver Robert Stethem, and dumped his body on the runway.This was the longest plane hijack ever and one of the main ones known to the FBI. This hijacked scared many new people. -
#5 Pan Am Flight 103
Less than 40 minutes into the flight, the plane exploded over the sky above Lockerbie, Scotland, killing everyone on board and 11 Scots on the ground. Abdel Basset Ali Al-Megrahi was found guilty of the crime and his actions were towards Scotlands and Americas government. The world was shocked because that was one the most devistatings plane hijacks ever. -
#3 1993 World Trade Center Bombing
The epicenter was the parking garage beneath the World Trade Center in New York City, where a massive eruption carved out a nearly 100-foot crater several stories deep and several more high. Six people were killed almost instantly and thousands injured. The people carrying out the attack were Nidal Ayyad, Mahmoud Abouhalima, and Ahmed Ajaj. They were trying to devastate the governement by knocking down the tower but failed in tryed again on 9/11. -
#4 The Oklahoma City Bombing
An ex-Army soldier and security guard named Timothy McVeigh parked a rented Ryder truck in front of the Alfred P. Murrah Federal Building in downtown Oklahoma City. He then detonated the bomb killing 168 people and several hundred injured. McVeigh waas trying to harm the government by harming people. The world thought at first that is was the Middle Eastern terrorists because of the past bombing of the World Trade Center in 93'. -
#2 East African Embassy Bombings
Nearly simultaneous bombs blew up in front of the American embassies in Nairobi, Kenya, and Dar es Salaam, Tanzania. 224 people died in the blast and 4,500 people were wounded. Four members of the al Qaeda terrorist network were envolved.Ffrom this attack the FBI works with international law enforcement and intelligence agencies to stop terrorists in their tracks. -
#8 The USS Cole Bombing
The bombing on the USS Cole was in Yemeni port of Aden. The blast ripped a 40-foot-wide hole near the waterline of the Cole, killing 17 American sailors and injuring many more. Members of the Al-Qaeda terrorist network planned and carried out the bombing. This attack was towards the goal of threatening the government. This was a massive site for the world to see and it set the world in shock especially Yemen and the US. -
#7 Anthrax-Amerithrax
After the terrorist attacks of 9/11, letters laced with anthrax began appearing in the U.S. mail. Five Americans were killed and 17 were sickened in what became the worst biological attacks in U.S. history. These attacks were carried out by Dr. Bruce Ivins who took his own life after the attacks. These attacks were mainly motives to scare the government right after 9/11. And for the efforts involved, more than 10,000 witness interviews on six different continents in the world. -

9/11 was the most lethal terrorist attacks in history, taking the lives of 3,000 Americans and international citizens. This lead to far-reaching changes in anti-terror operations in the U.S. and around the globe. These attacks were in New York City, Washington, and in Pennsylvania. There were many people invalved in this attack but one after found guilty was Zacarias Moussaoui who had six charges from 9/11. The impact of 9/11 was so huge it was the biggest crime scene in FBI history. -
#9 Afghanistan suicide bombing
A bomber slipped into a U.S. base in eastern Afghanistan and detonated a suicide vest, killing eight CIA officers in one of the deadliest days in the agency's history. This was carried out by the Al Ka Dau.This attack was of political reasons toward s the government and not so many people knew about the devistations.
