  At age 4, Savion's mother noticed that he loved banging on pots and pans to make a beat so she put him in drum lessons, which eventually would turn to dance lessons.

  At age 7, Savion first started taking dance lessons where he discovered his love to tap.

  At age 12 Savion played the lead role in the broadway musical "The Tap Dance Kid."

  Savion returned to Broadway and starred in "The Black and Blue Musical."

  Savion starred in his first film called "Tap" with his mentor, Gregory Hines.

  Made his debut on Sesame Street where he played a role of himself. He also choreographed his first work this year, "New Generation(s)" .

  In March 1991, Savion played Young Jelly Roll Morton in the musical "Jelly's Last Jam Musical".

  1996 was a big year for Savion. He won Best Choreography for “Bring in ’Da Noise, Bring in ’Da Funk;” Dance Magazine Award, the National Endowment for the Arts grant, Best New Theater Star, and Entertainment Weekly.

  Savion Glover was actually the inspiration behind Happy Feet and choreographed many parts of the movie.

  Savion also went on to choreograph the sequel to Happy Feet.
