  • Edgar Allen Poe is born in Boston

    He is the Poe's second child, he has an older brother named Henry.

  • Poe's sister Rosalie is born

    Soon after she is born his father abandons the family. His mother then becomes ill.

  • Poe's mother Elizabeth Poe dies

    David Poe dies a few days later, both die of Tuberculosis. The children are split up to be raised by seperate families. Edgar goes to live with the Allan family.

  • The Allan family moves to London where Poe starts school

  • Poe returns back to America

  • Poe writes his first poem

  • Poe enrolls at the University of Virginia

  • Poe leaves the Allan family and moves to Baltimore
