Leo major had an encounter with an enemy patroll. He killed four soldiers but one of them managed to light a grenade. After the explosion major lost one of his eyes but he continued to fight in the war. -

Leo was one of the of the very few soilders that got the distinguished conduct medal it was the second level of military decoration until they stoped making it in 1993.

On april 13 1945 Cpl Leo Major single-handedly liberated the city of zwolle in the netherlands. This action got him his first distinguished conduct medal.

Leo's friend Willy Arseneault died while trying to get into the city of zwolle.Leo got so mad he took his fallen friends gun and he shot two german soilders.

Leo major fought in korean war and was orderd to retreat but refused too. For three days major and his soldiers fought back the chinese until reinforcements came and he was awarded the Distinguished Conduct Medal.
