  • 2100 BCE

    Abraham's Calling From God

    God spoke to Abraham and promised him to multiply his offspring. He also promised Abraham to turn his offspring into great people who are blessings to the nation.
  • 2000 BCE

    Birth of Jacob

    Jacob, who later on became Israel, was born. His sons' names were used for the twelve tribes of Israel.
  • 1900 BCE

    Joseph is depleted into slavery in Egypt

    Joseph is held captive in Egypt leading all Israelites to become imprisoned.
  • 1446 BCE

    The Exodus Begins

    The Exodus, a period of time where the strength of God helps the Israelites to escape slavery, begins. The Israelites were led by Moses, and were able to leave and eventually settle in Canaan.
  • 1010 BCE

    David Becomes King

    David is crowned the King of Israel. He chooses Jerusalem to be his capital.
  • 970 BCE

    David's son, Solomon, becomes King

    Solomon, David's son, is crowned King. A temple is made to remember God.
  • 930 BCE

    Solomon Dies

    After Solomon's death, his Kingdom is divided into two different sections. There was the Northern Part (Jerusalem) and the Southern part (Judah).
  • 586 BCE

    The Temple of Solomon is Destroyed

    Solomon's temple is destroyed as the Babylonians conquer Jerusalem. The Jewish people are imprisoned in Babylon.
  • 250 BCE

    The Old Testament is translated from Hebrew to Greek

    The Old Testament, which was written in Hebrew, is translated into Greek. This event was called the Septuagint or the LXX.
  • 63 BCE

    Israel becomes ruled by Romans

    In 63 BC, Israel is taken over by the Romans.
  • 27 BCE

    Jesus' ministry begins

    Jesus begins preaching and spreading The Good News. He performs two significant miracles, the feeding of the 5000 and of course, His resurrection.

    Birth of Jesus

    Jesus was born in Bethlehem by the Virgin Mother Mary.

    Death of Jesus Christ

    Jesus dies on the Cross and resurrects from the dead.

    The Holy Spirit comes to the Early followers of Jesus, which is called the Pentecost. It is also known to be the "birth of the church".

    The First Gospel was published. Although it is not proven, Mark is thought to be the writer of this first Gospel.
