    He died on March 13, 2016 (aged 89) in Arlington, Massachusetts, U.S. According to his daughter-in-law Rebecca Steinitz, the cause was metastasized mesothelioma. He was well-grounded in physics and mathematics but strongly resisted the dominance of scientism, and was known for his ability to turn on his own arguments when he thought the facts merited reinterpretation.* *See the attachment for the references.
