The Proclamation of 1763 was an act in which the king claimed all 13 colonies and prohibited the colonies from going further west due to fear of losing control over the colonies and America in general. The Colonists responded to this by ignoring the act and continuing to move further west, which eventually led to disputes between the Indians and the Colonists, further escalating tension between Britain and the Colonists.
