Thomas Kuhn obtained a bachelors degree in physics from Harvard in 1943 , summa cun laude. After the war he returned to Harvard to obtain his masters in 1946. Following with his P.H.D in physics 1949.

From 1948 to 1956 Kuhn taught a course at Harvard in the history of science. It was at this time that he realized you could not judge ancient science by current science. To really understand it you must see through their eyes.

In 1964 Kuhn became a professor of Philosophy of Science and History of Science at Princeton University. He was the president of The History of Science Society form 1969 to 1970. In 1979 He went to M.I.T as a professor of Philosophy until 1991.
