    While studying and becoming an assistant professor in the history of science, Thomas Kuhn published his first book, The Copernicium Revolution. While studying the history of science, Kuhn apparently created this interest in scientific revolutions. This book was based on the astronomy scientific revolution that Copernicus created by stating that the Sun is in the center of the universe rather than the Earth.

    In the early 1960s, The Structure of Scientific Revolutions emerged. The Structure of Scientific Revolutions, or SSR, was a way to change the image of science. Science instead of being known as the products should be known for the process. Kuhn created the concept of a "paradigm" which were a set of scientific practices and schemes. The SSR is a four phase process that begins with a Pre-Paradigmatic phase and ends with the paradigm shift and a scientific revolution.

    In 1994, Thomas Kuhn was diagnosed with lung cancer. Two years later at his home in Cambridge, Massachusetts. He is survived by his wife, Jehane Kuhn; two daughters, Sarah Kuhn-La, Elizabeth Kuhn, and a son, Nathaniel Kuhn.
