In 1962, Thomas Kuhn published his book "The structure of Scientific Revolutions" his most well known piece of work. In this book Thomas discusses the idea of Paradigm and Paradigm shift, the cyclic patterns between Normal Science and Extraordinary Science. Normal science is just that "normal" it is the paradigm we are used to and scientists make their rules and hypothesis off of. While extraordinary science is the break through the abnormal the shift away from everyday known science.
