The creation of paradigm shift: Video
In this video it explains Kuhn's biggest contribution to philosophy; the paradigm shift. The Paradigm Shift
Thomas Kuhn released a book called "Structure of Scientific Revolutions." In his book he introduced the idea of "Paradigm shifts." The paradigm shift consist of a scientific breakthrough that changes peoples perspective on a particular subject in science and influences how all future science is conducted. An example of a paradigm shift is the creation of a heliocentric model. The book: Kuhn, Thomas S. The Structure of Scientific Revolutions. Chicago :University of Chicago Press, 1970. -
The Impact
Thomas Kuhn new Idea of a Paradigm shift had a significant impact on the scientific community. Before, all information was just built on top of each other without much organization. Kuhn's idea of paradigm shift brought organization to the scientific community and his philosophy helps simply understanding the history of science. -
What is a Paradigm shift?
A paradigm shift is Thomas Kuhn's way of describing the progression of science. It has four phases and starts with normal science, which is basically people looking for answers. It ends with a paradigm shift which is where people change their understanding of a subject and create a new baseline for normal science. -
