Theordor Seuss Geisel was born in Springfield, MA on March 2, 1904. You probably know me as Dr. Seuss!

After high school I attended Dartmouth College.
I was not much of a student but I did love my English Language Arts classes. -
On November 29, 1927, I married Helen Palmer and we moved to New York. I met Helen while studdying at Oxford University-- a place I never really fit in.

"And To think That I Saw It On Mulberry Street" was not my most popular children's book but it was my first published children's book.

World War II broke out in Europe and I was concerned about the world around me. I took a break from writing children's books and drew political cartoons.

The war ended and a babyboom was exploding in the US. More and more kids were readng and Houghton Mifflin wanted to capitalize. They challenged me to write a 225 word book that all 1st graders could read.

Helen and I moved to California and enjoyed our life together. I continued to write children's books and eventually was awarded a Pulizer Prize for dedication and conribution to children's literature.

I re-married and continued to live in California. In 1990, I published my last book "Oh the Places You will Go." I died happily in CA on Sepember 24, 1991. I had lived a wondeful life.
