    Battle in Normandy after D-Day which involved the Germans defending their position in Normandy. The battle ended with the U.S bombing the remaining German forces.

    U.S Invasion of the island of Iwo Jima which was controlled by Japan, the U.s were victorious but lost 6,800 men in the process

    The Battle of the Bulge was Hitler's last desperate offensive attack. His goal was to cut off supplies that were coming from the allies that were going through the port of Antwerp, Belgium. The U.S won this battle meaning now Germany was defenseless and nothing could stop the U.S from entering Germany

    The IMT was formed which was formed by the U.S, Britain, France, and the Soviet Union to punish German and Japanese leaders for their war crimes. These trials went on for many years and many were imprisoned or killed as their punishment.

    In order to halt/destroy Japan's war production the U.S resorted to using Napalm (a jellied gasoline) to burn the production. This resulted in thousands of innocent lives being caught in the crossfire of this firebombing.

    After much controversy and debate the U.S dropped the "Little boy" nuke on Hiroshima in hopes that they would surrender. Between 80,000 and 120,000 people died instantly, and many more later died of burns and radiation that lasted for decades.

    Three days after the bombing of Hiroshima the U.s sent another nuke to Japan this time in the city of Nagasaki resulting in between 35,000 and 74,000 peoples deaths. Not only did this happen but earlier in the day the Soviet Union declared war on Japan.

    After the U.S nuked 2 Japan cities Nagasaki, and Hiroshima, as well as the Soviet Union declaring war on them Japan fully surrendered. Their Surrender marked the end of WW2.
