After being rejected by 12 other publishing company's, Bloomsbury Publishers signed with Rowling! And, officially on 26 June 1997, Bloomsbury published Philosopher's Stone with an initial print run of 500 copies. -
After some comprising with Arthur A. Levine, head of the imprint at Scholastic, pushed for a different name for Harry Potter, the pair settled on "Harry Potter and the Sorcerers Stone." Following that, Sorcerer's Stone was released in the United States in September 1998. -
Following her publication in the United States, Rowling book became New York Times Bestseller in December of that year. -
Following the first book, Rowling continued the series with the second book. Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets. -
The third book then was published the following year after the second. -
In 1999, Warner Bros. purchased film rights to the first two Harry Potter novels for a reported $1 million. -
Then, Rowling released the fourth book which, like the others before it, sold millions of copies. -
Once accepting the offer to work with Warner Bros to turn the books into films, the Warner Bros released the Harry Potters first book adapted in 2001. -
Following the fifth book of the series, fans were worried when the next book was published within the next year. Some even feared that Rowling had a case of writers block.
But, following the next year after that, Rowling published the sixth book. -
Two years later, Rowling published the sixth book of the series in July. -
The series than came to a close with the final book, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, which was published in 2007. -
Much unlike the Deathly Hallows Book, the film makers decided to make this chapter of Harry's life into two parts. The first adaption of the novel was released in 2010 -
Following the first part of the adaption, the film markers released part two of the Deathly Hallows on
